Ian Fisher: Upcoming Album: “Go Gentle” Review

Updated: Feb 8

Ian Fisher is an artist who understands art, his new album Go Gentle is the definition of that. The album tackles subjects like grief and heartache. With this release being about his late mom who battled cancer for 26 years, it is a tough subject to write and sing about; yet, he did it so gracefully.

Fisher Made major emotional shifts throughout the whole album. The first two songs “The Face Of Losing” and “Growing Pains” being more on the sad side. Where he details growing up watching his moms battle and having to handle this while still being a child. And the next four songs “Take You With Me”, “Tigress”, “Somebody Loved”, and “In Her Hand” being a little upbeat but still having the same undertone message as the first two. The last four songs on his album “Underneath Your Wing”, “Mother Please Forgive Me”, “Independence Day”, and “Box Of Dust” shift back to the beginning tones in sound.

Music and art in general are provenly therapeutic, and you can tell that this album has the capability to do just that. Go Gentle’s therapeutic qualities make it clear what Fisher stands for in this release. His new album very smoothly takes you through the stages of grief and loss. Anyone who has experienced any grief in their life, as most have to some level can find comfort in this release. Overall, Go Gentle is relatable on many levels, while also being one of a kind.
