In the wake of the Badlands revival, Halsey amazes once again with her new release, “Garden.” The track closely echoes the moody, ethereal energy of her earlier work calling back to the haunting vocals of “Young God” and the melodic depth of “Heaven in Hiding” from her Hopeless Fountain Kingdom era.
This time, she invites us into a world that feels both familiar and refreshingly new, offering a reimagined experience for a younger generation those who may have been too young to fully appreciate the original Badlands when it first dropped.
“Garden” brings many familiar concepts back; references to bruised knees and tired eyes and that raw emotional undercurrent that made Badlands resonate so deeply. Sonically this song ties back closely to Badlands in such a nostalgic way capturing the spirit of her early sound in a way that’s unmistakably her.
What makes “Garden” truly special is Halsey's ability to strike a delicate balance; she revives the past without repeating it. The track evokes old memories with a single note, yet still feels fresh, evolved, and purposeful. It's a masterclass in emotional resonance and artistic growth.
