LØLØ recently stopped in Paris, France for the penultimate show of her first ever headline tour, You Tour Me On. La Boule Noire, a small venue located in the heart of Paris, was filled to the brim and ready to party, with the crowd chanting for the singer right as the doors opened.
The night started with opening act Gus, accompanied by Erica Fox on guitar and Zoë McMillan on drums. Beginning his set with calmer songs such as “The Rim Fire”, “Heart Island Effect”, "Cut the Kite Strings” and “Big Things Small Seeds”, the singer then asked if we were ready to party before launching his eponymous song. It’s safe to say Gus captured the hearts of his Parisian audience, who danced along and chanted his name throughout his set. Changing the words to his last songs with “guess I’ll just stay in Paris”, Gus exited the stage dancing as he thanked us, leaving the audience hyped and ready for LØLØ.
With the Wizard of Oz inspired aesthetic from her debut album, Falling for Robots and Wishing I Was One, LØLØ brought us to a new dimension, with immersive set design including the yellow brick road and a robot. The singer sang hits from her album, such as “omg”, “kill the girl”, “2 of us” while also playing songs from her earlier EPs like “death wish” and “THE FLOOR IS LAVA!!”
LØLØ might have been scared of going on her first headline tour, it’s clear she was proven wrong as the fans kept chanting and singing her name, enthralled by her undeniable stage presence. And, though she has already captured the hearts of her fans, she did not hesitate to turn them into her own personal cheerleaders, giving out pom-poms to the crowd and even choosing a lucky fan to dance to “debbie downer” on stage with her.
Her French fans didn’t come empty handed to the show - as the very first notes of “I would fix u if I could” start, paper hearts are lifted in the crowd, bringing a few happy tears from the singer. The calm atmosphere doesn’t last long though, as LØLØ soon enough plays a pop punk cover of Lorde’s “Liability”, followed by “boohoo”. LØLØ came back onstage for her encore, sporting a well appreciated “French Accents Are Sexy” tee, which she’ll sell signed after the show, closing the night with her hit “hot girls in hell”.
