Movements stopped at Madison, Wisconsin’s iconic venue: “The Sylvee” on September 20th, for their 2024 RUCKUS! Tour accompanied by Turnover & Queen of Jeans.
The night started with some alternative music from Philly-based band, Queen of Jeans. There were few die-hard fans in the crowd amongst a sea of new discoverers of the band, nonetheless, the band definitely set the perfect atmosphere for the rest of the night.
The following act, Turnover, was set to take the stage secondly on this three-band billed tour. Turnover is one of the most well-known bands in the alternative scene since their start in Virginia in 2009. Over the past 15 years, the band has made quite a name for themselves. With five full albums and multiple EPs and singles released over that time, Turnover changed the game for the alternative scene in the 2010s.
Turnover decided to start their set off with two 2022 releases: “Stone Station” and “Tears of
Change” following a 2017 Good Nature favorite “Super Natural.” The crowd was dancing and singing along to songs old and new, but the crowd showed their hidden exhilaration when they played two of their top hits: “Dizzy From the Comedown,” and “Cutting My Fingers Off. There was even a little bit of crowd surfing starting during Turnover’s set.
When Movements was ready to start, it was “Killing Time.” The venue was officially packed from wall to wall of fans who had wandered in throughout the night. As the Orange County alternative-rock band took the stage, cheers louder than imaginable echoed throughout the room. The band came out and opened to “You’re One of Us Now” letting the crowd know exactly what to expect, and bring, for the night. The band continued strongly with another RUCKUS! Track “Lead Pipe” Throughout their set they filled the night with a solid mix of songs from their three full-length albums Feel Something, No Good Left to Give, and RUCKUS!
The crowd proved themselves when Movements was performing. There was undoubtedly a sense of awe in the room in the band's ability to captivate everyone's attention. From crowd surfing to circle pits and shouting throughout the room; it is fair to say Movements has a way of entrancing a crowd with their whirlwind of talent displayed.
Movements never fails to put on truly memorable, lasting experiences for their fans to hold onto. This band has been on the rise for a while now, and there’s no waiver of that changing in sight anytime soon; especially after the support gained on this year's RUCKUS! Tour.
