Canadian based punk-pop artist Lauren Mandel, better known as LØLØ, has been taking over the world with her music lately. This past year the artist has traveled around multiple countries performing her first headlining tour and almost fully selling out this honor of her album release, Wishing I Was a Robot Instead of Falling for One. The album is heart-wrenching and punchy.
There’s no surprise this tour was almost completely sold out, LØLØ has not only released an album recently, but was also announced to perform at Warped Tour and most recently nominated for “Best Breakthrough Live Artist” for the 2025 Heavy Music Awards!
On March 13, LØLØ stopped at an intimate Chicago venue: Beat Kitchen. The show was sold out and packed full of a variety of different individuals all there to support her. After her performance in Chicago that night it is understandable how an artist doing so much at once manages it all so beautifully. This artist put on one of the most interactive and engaging performances with her fans compared to many. At every show she pulls up an honorary “Debbie Downer” to perform with and is actively supporting and reposting her supporters’ work back on social media. This alone shows true transparency in the passion she has for art of all kinds, something Starwave Magazine holds very highly as a mission.
LØLØ’s performance at Beat Kitchen was nearly indescribably impressive. Her vocal strength, range, and passion is even more remarkable live. Tears were shed by many, dancing by most, and absolute positive astonishment in this artist’s performance by all. There were long time fans and people who had never heard of her there, but everyone in attendance supported her whole set with extensive gratitude for such an amazing performance.
