Scene Queen, or Hannah Rose Collins, is an American pop-rock artist who ‘ripped the US by their extensions’ on her headlining tour this past summer. While on tour, she released a single called “L Shaped Couch”, a new and absolute queer summer anthem.
Scene Queen did not just take the stage at Thalia Hall, in Chicago, IL; she made it her own.
She started her, impressively lengthy set of almost 3 hours, off with some of her most popular songs “BDSM”, “Pink Push-Up Bra”, “Finger” and “Pink Panther” before she headed into her newly released single, “L-Shaped Couch”. By this time already, the fans and Scene Queen’s energy was high. The crowd went wild for every single song. Scene Queen is an artist that is intentional with her fanbase. Before going on this tour she posted a reel on instagram about her POTS and for tips for her summer shows in the heat if her fans needed help! “Bimbocore” may not be something heard often, but in this case and Scene Queen’s music it represents the metal collide with alternative pop that she claims so strongly as a dominant woman. Scene Queen is the sole representation of a woman that doesn’t stand for any disgraces. She truly embodied a positive and powerful matriarchal energy on the stage in Chicago. On the stage it is evident that she is trying to connect with as many fans as she possibly can. Thalia Hall had a small platform for her to step onto in the middle of the barricade, giving her, and the fans, an opportunity to be closer and more intimate with one another during her live performance. Scene Queen finished out her set with a variety of her top hits from her album, “Hot Singles In Your Area”, with a strong engagement with the crowd and controlling the stage with the finish off with “18+”. Starwave will redact the chant from what the crowd may have said or danced to, but it was one experience that brought everyone together with no direction from anyone. Scene Queen had a strong performance and had no waiver with her voice or crowd engagement. The whole experience was something like no other and full of dance worthy beautiful strong female energy!
