Thank you to °1824 and for such an incredible opportunity to get to know more about Rob49’s creative process and personal motivation. The questions asked at this press conference expressed such a variety of perspectives and different topics, of not only his latest viral hit, “WTHELLY”, but a deeper look into his true creative persona.
Starwave Magazine’s supporters + team are all around their 20s+30s; so, as the editor thought: what better way to get a straight forward answer DIRECTLY from Rob49 on the reality of what accelerated the growth in his creative career. Specifically, for individuals like us, that share a passion for creating, than to ask this—
“Many young adults around your age are [currently] struggling in various different ways [on their own paths]. With that being said, and having just turned 26, what was your turning point for you to embrace your music career full time?”
Rob49 answered:
“I think getting evicted from my crib. [Like,] It was the only thing that I had that was going at the moment; so, I was like ‘I might as well just cool with it You Know?’ [and] It wound up working for me. That was the turning point. Just that simple.”

“Just that simple”
I kept thinking on this statement alone. KD, my co-founder, lost their apartment where I was staying as well, due to an electric fire a month before Starwave’s official launch— last year in April of 2024. Dealing with prior and continued battles of mental and physical health issues it has been a journey for sure and often times we experience imposter syndrome in these roles at the place in our personal lives.
Personally as a co-founder, I was asked a few months ago, “Where did the concept of Starwave Magazine come from?”. I responded,
“Starwave Magazine came out of a new passion for life & realizing the importance of creativity and art, [within it] keeping me alive through a very dark time before [launching] Starwave [Magazine]. I always have wanted Starwave [Magazine] to be a place an artist of any kind can succeed, from any place in their career. // Whether Starwave is a stepping stone for other fellow artists to move onto bigger things, or is their main outlet source of opportunities, the goal is to always push creative expectations and highlight things that are overlooked.”
Thank you °1824 and Rob49 for such an incredible opportunity to get to know more about Rob49’s creative style and personal development too! Life and art always need the flexibility to be simple, or complex; otherwise, we remain stagnant. Thank you Rob49 for the reminder that some things are really “just that simple” to do; especially, when the creativity within is the only thing left.
