Kelley Cole, a Nashville-based independent artist, released her new release “Twenty Something Teenager” on Friday, March 14, 2025.

Cole’s vocal range throughout the whole song is steady. She exemplifies a strong range of vocal capabilities and shows off a mix of genres that blend seamlessly with one another. Her prime tones within this track lean towards pop-punk primarily, yet her Nashville accent comes out in her voice as well, creating an unmatchable sound.

Lyrically the artist is clear in her feelings of nostalgia and many common “quarter-life” crisis feelings many, if not all “twenty something” year olds go through. There are many pop-culture references to the y2k era, with references to iconic staples of the media, fashion and beauty topics and trends of the 2000s.

Although, Cole stated on the creation of her new single: “this song is me reaching back to that girl and inviting her to stay with me—sleepovers, twilight marathons, and all”. This statement by the artist on this track brings a new perspective to the song. More often than not nostalgic tracks tend to dwell on what cannot be controlled anymore. This track instead offers an invitation to come along on the healing journey of finding and allowing the healthy nostalgic areas of life to be restored.

This single is a representation of anyone trying to connect to pieces of their past; any generation can relate the message of the utmost nostalgic passion Cole put into this track.
